this thick-skinned grape  
has a pungent, fruity
flavor.  It's a native
American grape to be
eaten off the vine and also
used to make wine, jellies,
syrup, juice and
nutrimental supplements.
In fact, the muscadine was
one of the first varieties
from which wine was
made in America.  
Muscadines are used to
make a sweet wine that is
still popular in the South.
The Carlos variety is
especially prized in
winemaking..
